It’s great because it’s simple, it’s quick, it requires minimal equipment, and it REALLY hits your abs. It’s also inspired by MMA conditioning exercises, so it gives you great functional core strength as well. Here’s what you’ll be doing: 10 Toe Touches 10 V-Sits 10 Triangles Do all 3 exercises back to back. Repeat the entire superset 3 times, with 1 minute rest between sets. Exercise tips: TOE TOUCHES: Keep your arms and legs extended out as far as possible. Move slowly in the extended position. Dan uses a medicine ball here, but any weighted object (dumbbell, weight plate, etc.) will work. V-SIT: A Muay Thai conditioning exercise. Sit balanced with your feet and upper body off the floor in the starting position. Extend your body straight as much as possible without touching your shoulders or feet to the floor, then explosively contract your abs to move forward. TRIANGLES: Inspired by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu submission (the triangle). Coaches will often make students drill this move to build the ab endurance necessary to effectively secure the choke. The key is to shoot your legs up and elevate your body, until you are almost standing vertically on your shoulders. Visualize putting your footprints on the ceiling. I’ve been in the fitness industry for 25 years now and have followed many fat loss and weight coaching programs but I’ll have to say my largest challenge is commonly just staying lean once I get there. I enjoy eating pizza and ice cream with my children just like anyone else but infrequently I’m going a bit too far to the intense and over the course of a few months can put on quite a bit of fat as the heavy weight coaching routines that I do don’t burn lots of fat to keep me lean. I’ve made a decision to take the next 12 weeks to change over to a pure conditioning and fat loss workout in order that I can see my abs again and feel healthy again. I’m currently checking out a program called How to Get Ripped Abs by John Alvino. I wanted a program that laid it out from start to finish so that I would not have to consider it. I just needed to obey the directions and let the fat burn off. How to Get Ripped Abs definitely has it all which is why I was attracted to this actual program. The package includes everything you could possibly need leaving zip to chance. It has got a 12 week exercise routine, custom meal plan based on your lean body weight, recipes, and a total exercise index detailing each exercise with pictures. Workout Program The exercise routine is named meltdown and is divided into 4 phases each lasting three weeks. This is one of the best fat burning workouts I’ve ever seen designed. The reason for this is each exercise is designed to employ a maximum amount of your muscles, stabilizing muscles, and your core. One example is the single leg curl on a ball. I thought this looked simple in the book but once I gave it a try and realized I was stabilizing my whole torso while sliding the ball back I found I could not complete the twelve reps. The book is stuffed with these full body intensive exercises that in turn burn fat off faster than any isolation or standard weight lifting exercises ever could. there’s also a good amount of dumbbell work with exercises that work multiple muscles at once. I was pooped after my first workout and now I know why the workout is called disintegration. Each muscle in my body was exhausted and I was prepared to get some rest. The program also permits you to print out your exercise sessions in a chart format so that you can fill in your weight and reps. I made public my workout and placed it onto a clipboard with a hardcopy of the exercise descriptions just in case I needed to reference back on the best way to do some of the particular ones that I was not acquainted with. The cardio workouts are concentrated on the days that you do not train with weights. They are high intensity and there are several to select from. The book contains adaptations of cardio that can be done without equipment which is nice because then I can limit my journeys to the gym to only three per week. The nutrition Program Since everyone is different this program is tailored to your individual body type and lean body weight. Nothing is left to making a guess here as there is an individual meal plan for each person chosen by calories a day. The meal plan has charts of food making it simple to exchange some foods for others. This isn’t a diet as you won’t be starving yourself at all. Anywhere from five to 6 meals each day spaced out thru the day. There’s importance on clean whole foods and when you start to eat like this you can realize that you fill up reasonably quickly, you’re never tired and you are never hungry. There’s a separate book included that gives recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and deserts. Also included is a book for protein shake recipes. The whole nutritive program is very accurate for the individual and gives lots of instructions on what to eat and how much. Food logs are also included that you can fill in as well as a daily menu that makes it easy to follow. if you’re looking out for a full package fitness programme I actually consider How to Get Ripped Abs to be foolproof.
